The 2nd Annual T&T Golfing for Military Event was held Saturday, November 4th at the Neuse Golf Club in Clayton, NC.
The event will kicked off with a shotgun start at 12pm and included lunch from Zaxby’s of Clayton, a post-tournament BBQ dinner prepared by Troy Dye — winner of Food Network’s “Cooks vs. Cons” — a silent auction, prizes, and more.
All $6,800 raised from the event went directly to Stop Soldier Suicide, the nation’s first veteran-founded-and-led 501(c)3 nonprofit aimed at preventing suicide within the military community.
Twenty-two veterans and active duty military take their lives every day. Stop Soldier Suicide works to empower the military community for life by providing free resources and support to all service members, veterans, and military family members.
“No one should ever feel that suicide is their only option. Our goal is to help those who serve navigate the unique challenges and stressors of military life,” says Shawn Jones, executive director of Stop Soldier Suicide. “There are countless veteran service organizations that provide resources — but we are more than just a resource center. Our 24-month case management program ensures that our clients receive the help they need, with a personalized approach that mirrors the tight-knit community found in military culture.”
“It’s an honor to join forces with Stop Soldier Suicide to raise awareness and funds for the mission-critical work the organization does to help our military, veterans, and their families. We are thrilled and look forward to hosting members of the military and their supporters at our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament. We anticipate more than 70 golfers and their families,” says Jacqui Pomales-Moody, chief of staff and community outreach director of T&T Creative Group. “Whether you play golf or not, you can help us support Stop Soldier Suicide. Come out and join us for a great event at a great venue, benefitting a great cause.”
