Tweens & Technology 3rd Annual Summer camp exceeded expectation. Students ranging from 3rd to 6th grade attended camp.

We had 24 girls and boys attend Tweens & Technology camp for a week-long full day STEM learning experience.

Level 1 began their journey by learning how to develop their own interactive stories by learning Scratch block coding.  Our returning students in Level 2 & Level 3 continued to build their knowledge in coding, problem solving and critical thinking.

Level 2 developed video games and animation as our Level 3 took a dive into robotics with Edison robots.  They experimented and utilized barcode programming, were challenged with critical thinking, engineering and design thinking.

The annual Tweens & Technology summer camp is designed to engage elementary age girls and boys in STEM.  Camp teaches and encourage our youth to collaborate with their peers; help them build an understanding of Intellectual Property as they apply their creativity, learn to code and unlock their potential.

We were honored to host a fantastic group of guest presenters who shared the opportunities a career in STEM will provide.  Guest presenters included Raleigh ISSA, NetApp, EPA, Trend Micro, CWNC, Refresher Training, LLC and the Triangle Cultural Art Center.

Our guest presenters engaged our students with hands on activities, such as an engineering challenge, science experiments and 3D printing demonstration.  Presenters also shared STEM career opportunities and the importance of being a good digital citizen.

Our 5th annual Tweens & Technology camp is scheduled for July 2019.  We invite you to volunteer, serve as a guest presenter or become a sponsor in order to extend this STEM learning experience with all our future tech and business leaders.
